Peru Durable organizes the Peruvian edition of the International Day of Responsible Tourism

"Sociability and solidarity, the values for an original tourism".

This Tuesday, June 3rd, 2014, the operator of tourism met in eight different countries in order to discuss the new values of the responsible tourism. In Peru, the event took place in the facilities of PROMPERU, a promotional event of the tourism in Peru. It received the support of the Tourism Ministry and also from the San Marcos University, several travel agencies, an important hotel chain and from the Association for the Defense of People with Disabilities or Fair Commerce.

Everyone brought their vision towards what is responsible tourism and shared their numerous examples as follow ups. Everyone stated their wishes of making sure these issues are taken into consideration for the development of the tourism in Peru.

The JMTR 2014 For the second edition of the JMTR in Peru we focused of the solidarity aspect of tourism in Peru and he problems it is currently facing, as well as the birth of the social tourism: the accessibility of the web pages and the birth of the “right for tourism”. The Professor Javier Elescano A specialist of tourism from the San Marcos University, Professor Elescano opened the session explaining the theorist basis of the concepts.	An attentive audience	Javier Hundkopf President of AHORA Perú, an important hotel group, Javier Hundskopf clarified the role of the hotels in the development of a society for a more fair tourism.
Sergio Claux Président de Grupo Fundades, une association qui oeuvre pour l'insertion des personnes handicapées, est intervenu sur le tourisme social et l'accessibilité.	Huaqiu Gan Member of the “Programa de Apoyo al Turismo de la Comunidad Vivencial” from the Tourism Council of Peru, Huaqiu Gan gave important advices for the development of responsible tourism through numerous examples.	Bruno Rossignol Member of the NGO Latitud Sur, Bruno Rossignol, commercializes cruises in the Amazonas in order to support the projects of the local communities.
Angel Dunu Maya The former chief of Matsés Amazon, Ángel Dunu Maya introduced the case of a community that is self-managing in order to do tourism as an activity that will generate development and stability.	The team for a Sustainable Peru Accompanied by Pablo Gálvez, host of the day, and the director of ASOTUR Peru, Eduardo Sevilla, Tourism Director in Peru and Javier Elescano, teacher at the San Marcos University	Catherine Mac Lorin Mrs. Mac Lorin represented the support from the French Embassy in Peru to the event of the International Day of Responsible Tourism.
