ITINERARY :

 

Day 1 : Arrive to Lima. Spend the night in a Bed and Breakfast

 

Day 2 : Visit cultural Lima: The Church of San Francisco. The Government Palace and the Museum of the Inquisition. Spend the night in a Bed and Breakfast.

 

Day 3 : Visit the Chorrillos port in the morning. For lunch, enjoy ceviche the traditional dish of Peru. In the afternoon, depart to Jauja and transfer to Huancayo. Spend the night in a family home.

 

Day 4 : Discover different types of local crafts. For lunch, enjoy: la pachamanca, a traditional dish cooked in the ground. During the afternoon, visit the Monastery of Ocopa. Spend the night in a family home.

 

Day 5 : Visit Huancayo and the market there before flying back to Lima in the afternoon. Spend the night in a Bed and Breakfast.

 

Day 6 : Depart to Cusco where you will be able to visit the monuments such as the Cathedral and Koricancha. This will give you and introduction to to Incan culture and agriculture. Spend the night in a hotel.

 

Day 7 : Depart to the Scared Valley of the Incas. On the way to Calca visit several archaeological sites: Sacsayhuaman, Quenko, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay and Pisac. Accommodation in a family home in Calca.

 

Day 8,9,10 : Enjoy community life with people of Calca and participation in daily activities. Walk and discover the Sacred Valley.

 

Day 11 : Visit Maras, Moray, and Ollantaytambo where we will take the train to Aguas Calientes. Have dinner at the hotel, where you will spend the night.

 

Day 12 : Visit Machu Picchu as soon as you wake up. Option: climb to Huayna Picchu (small extra cost) Return to Cusco to spend the night at your hotel.

 

Day 13 : Depart to Lima, enjoy the rest of the day.

 

Day 14 : Transportation to the aiport to take departure flight to home city.
